Hedman Partners, in cooperation with Gunderson Dettmer, advised the London-based venture capital firm Mosaic Ventures on investing in Veriff – provider of web and mobile identity verification solutions.
Veriff helps other businesses to reduce fraud and meet KYC requirements by providing innovative online identity verification solutions. Instead of a physical face-to-face identification the customers and their identity documents are photographed. In order to verify a customer’s identity, the gathered information is analyzed against data from governmental databases and by combining technical advancements such as facial recognition, social ID, device ID, optical character recognition.
Mosaic Ventures is a Silicon Valley-style venture capital firm based in London, focused on Series A. They were the lead investors in Veriff’s $7.7 million Series A financing round. Mosaic Ventures’ partners have 25+ years of experience investing on both sides of the Atlantic. In that time, they have invested across 10 countries in over 70 companies that together have created over $400 billion of value.
Hedman Partners’ attorneys Merlin Salvik and Toomas Seppel and advocate Kristel Tael performed legal due diligence on Veriff OÜ, which is the Estonian subsidiary of the target company Veriff Inc.
